Gorgeous cluster of absolutely gem-clear Fluorites from the well-known Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, this represents the transparency and quality of the so-called green ice cubes that came out in the middle 1990s. The largest of these Fluorite cubes is a substantial 5.2 cm on edge, and the narrowly-beveled edges add to the aesthetics. There has been some contacting along one side of the piece as this material was not collected particularly carefully at the time of early mineral recovery in China (and in fact was sold by the kilo at the time, unwrapped, in piles). A few of the Fluorites are affected by minor edge wear, but the the overall attractive nature of these gemmy cubes with their high luster, good color, and sublime, watery-purple fluorescence more than carries the day. This is a classic, desirable, and large, small-cabinet piece from Xianghualing, from its early and classic era of production. This does not come out today in similar form.
